Gas Chain with Locations in Colorado is closing hundreds of stores.

Unfortunately, it seems like we hear about another Colorado restaurant, store, or other type of business closing down for good every time we turn around or, god forbid, read the news. Find out more: Why are some parts of this dog park in Grand Junction, Colorado, closing?

One of the most recent news of this kind doesn’t have to do with a small business or even a store that’s only in Colorado, but the Centennial State will still feel some of the effects of it. A convenience store chain with many stores in Colorado is closing hundreds of stores.

There have been 7-Eleven stores all over Colorado and the rest of the country for a long time. The Japanese-owned business, on the other hand, recently said it would be closing more than 400 stores in the US and Canada before 2025.

The news from the big convenience store chain says that inflation, slower traffic, and, surprisingly, a big drop in cigarette sales are to blame for the poor performance that led the company to this point.

The company says that nicotine pouches and vapes, which are options to tobacco smoke, are to blame for the drop in sales.

At the moment, there are 378 7-Eleven stores open in Colorado, which is about 4% of all the stores in North America. It is still unclear whether any of these stores will be touched by the upcoming closures.

In a statement, 7-Eleven’s current CEO and president, Joe DePinto, said that the company was going to focus more on giving people high-quality food at low prices in order to ensure the brand’s future success.
